Bosa

Today we decided to travel to Bosa, which is about 20 miles south of Alghero to look at a boatyard as we need some minor work done over the winter and we are trying to find a yard where we can do the work ourselves. We decided to go by bus as it is a four hour sail each way and we had very light winds so we would have had to motor the whole way and the days are getting shorter and shorter. The bus took nearly an hour as it had to follow the very windy road along the coast.

Bosa itself is actually quite a nice town with various bars along the waterfront – it has the only navigable river in Sardinia. It has a castle, church with small streets and alleyways that date back many centuries.

Tomorrow we will be visiting the yards in Alghero to compare prices although they won’t let you do the work yourself so we are expecting them to be more expensive. The weather here continues to be quite warm, in the early 20s, during the day so we are still wearing t-shirts and shorts but cooler in the evenings.
