Our first stop was Cherbourg in Normandy as the weather windows were small at the moment and we had more options catching the west going tide to get to the Alderney Race at the right time. With the number of lows sweeping up the channel, once we got to Cherbourg, we could be storm bound there for a day or two.
But, as we reached France, it turned into a glorious evening.
Having arrived in Cherbourg, we were too tired to go into town so ate on board. The showers are now free in the marina although the nearest ones to us were locked!
